I'll keep this as short as possible. Due to some asshole somewhere in the world who thought it'd be fun to hack a website because they have nothing better to do, he or she decided to ruin Tranzmission, changing the coding to redirect people to other websites. That problem has been fixed (we think), but there are some things we just cannot change. This has been an absolute headache for everyone here at Tranzmission. To the hacker, congratulations you did your job, so for that, you get this:
To our loyal readers over the past 15 months, we can't thank you enough for checking out Tranzmission, spreading the word, and coming to us for music news. To all the local, independent, unsigned artists who used us as a platform to showcase your music, we can't thank you enough. The readers enjoyed it. Is this the end of Tranzmission? Yes. What happens now? We're starting from scratch - new name, new design, the best content we can provide. We hope to have the site up and running by March 1, just in time to start talking South by Southwest.
Sincerely,
Ryan

The Strokes finally release new music ... if only it was good
What a disappointment. Maybe it's because I've only listened to it once five times. But the first track off the upcoming album, Angles, is just, ehh. Julian Casablancas, who didn't even record the vocals with the band, sounds like he's about 15 years old. And he's got this poppy bounce to him, which is so bizarre. This is the poppiest this band has ever sounded. Let's hope it gets better. Have a listen to the single, "Under the Cover of Darkness." One thing remains the same - Albert Hammond, Jr. slays on guitar.

Tôg delivers horror-house pop all the way from Norway
I've never been to Norway. But if I go, I'm gonna hang out with Tôg. Why? Because their genre of music has been coined "horror-house pop." I have no idea what that means. What I do know is that they can play music, quite well. From organs to synthesizers, they have a handle on the keys. They also make beats like they're nobody's business. Listen to the track "Sansen." Tôg is headed stateside in March, playing five gigs at South by Southwest. Tôg will also release a limited edition 10" on March 22. Word.

White Stripes breakup leaves gap that likely will be filled with rubbish
Say what you will about the White Stripes, but to me, this band epitomized minimalistic rock-and-roll, and their garage rock sound jumpstarted a rejuvenation of the scene first explored in the 60s and early 70s. Jack White and Meg White made for the perfect duo. Haters bitch about the band having no bassist. They didn't need one. Jack White's guitar riffs made you forget that bands can survive on a guitar and drums alone. Now that the White Stripes have broken up and no longer will make music, it leaves this hole in the modern-day rock world. Someone fill it quickly, even if you try to sound like the White Stripes. If not, we're in for a world of shit music. Here are some of the band's top tracks.

Toro y Moi releases new single, more fun
Chillwave's most innovative artist, Chaz Bundick, a.k.a. Toro y Moi, is back, and this time he is delivering more goods. Today he released a new Toro y Moi single called "New Beat." It's sick. As an added bonus, I threw in his "Still Sound" video.

Who's on You Radar? Hucklebuck is now
Hailing from the small historic town of Sharpsburg, Maryland, Hucklebuck carries a big sound. On their 2010 album Bender, this alt-country/roots rock fivesome brings so much to table. And instead of sticking with one sound and going with it, Hucklebuck delivers a little bit of everything, and they switch it up flawlessly. "The More that I Chase You" has this great southern twang, and "I Got Friends" is an Americana anthem that completes this album. Hucklebuck features Jonathan Helta, Jarod Brechbill, and Jon James, all on guitars and vocals; Tim Smith on drums and vocals, and Danny Cumbo on bass. If you're looking for these guys, find them on Twitter, Facebook, and on their own site.

The Strokes will (finally) release new album
Finally, finally! This album has been five years in the making, or five years of waiting depending on how you look at it. We've waited impatiently, so this better be good. The last album, First Impressions of Earth, was pretty boring and not nearly as good as the first two albums. This new one, Angles, comes out March 22 on RCA Records. The album comes out a day earlier in the UK on Rough Trade Records. The band released the tracklisting for Angles, and they plan to tour in the spring. More details to come, hopefully before 2016.
Angles
1. Machu Picchu
2. Under Cover of Darkness
3. Two Kinds of Happiness
4. You're So Right
5. Taken For A Fool
6. Games
7. Call Me Back
8. Gratisfaction
9. Metabolism
10. Life Is Simple In The Moonlight
Hopefully the new album sounds something like this ... "Last Nite"
